It wasn’t until I was sitting at home singing and praying with my roommates last night, like we do every Thursday night, that I realized the significance of an event that I had completely missed while it was happening.
I was standing outside at work earlier that afternoon, discussing things with teachers and chatting with parents as they came to collect their children. Montaque has become a very affectionate child and is always hugging us and his mouth never stops, so nothing about this interaction stood out to me at the moment. He was clasping my legs in both of his arms and leaning his head waaaayyy back to look up at my face, and was saying (more than singing) “let it shine let it shine let it shine” over and over.
How silly of me to think he was just a needy, attention seeking child in that instance. God was trying to use this boy to remind me, in the midst of my chaotic work, to pay attention to His glory and to allow that same glory to shine through me so that others might worship Him as well!
