Today, in honor of a new year (and a new camera), I’m starting “366″ — taking a picture of something memorable, important, or ordinary each day for a year.  (It’s leap year in 2008 so you’ll get one extra picture!)  My first one is of my new journal which I’ve been hoarding since May when my dad mailed it to me.  I forced myself to use up the old one first and budgeted the pages accordingly so the new one would start today.  Neurotic, I know!  Anyway, the most ironic thing is that I’ve been waiting to start 366 for a while and planning the first shot — so I tried to be so artsy about it, down to the kind of pen I was going to write with — and then I wrote 1/8/08 instead of 1/1/08.  Oh well!  I think that speaks poignantly of many of the intentions and resolutions we make during this season.
